Description and Applications
The RSX Ultralightweight (4.25 kg) Plate-Type LSD is designed for PSA MCM gearboxes, also known as MC6, MC 6-speed, and BVM6 (Boîte de Vitesses Manuelle) in France. These gearboxes are paired with PSA 1.6L THP turbo engines and can be found in Peugeot, Citroën, and the 2nd-generation BMW Mini models:

Our Plate-Type LSDs are precision-crafted from FORGED Nickel-Chromoly steel and undergo specialized heat treatments, including Super Sub-Zero Cryogenic Treatment. Additionally, they are subjected to shot peening and WPC treatments to reinforce both core and surface strength, significantly increasing wear resistance and extending service life.

The use of large oil windows and multiple holes improves internal lubrication, minimizes friction, and enhances fatigue strength. These design elements, combined with high-strength materials and advanced treatments, contribute to significantly reduced overall weight, making it the lightest plated LSD on the market at just 4.25 kg.

As with all our plated LSDs, we use dual ramp bodies. The factory-spec version for this application features 35/65 & 45/60 ramp angles, with additional ramp angles available upon request.

We include, at no additional cost:

A set of High-tensile steel (12.9-grade) ring gear/crown wheel bolts for a secure and reliable installation. The crown bolts are tightened to the torque specified by the manufacturer in the repair manual. We recommend applying a high-strength threadlocker, such as Loctite 271 (red) or, for maximum security, Loctite 270/2701 (green).

An extra, thicker Belleville/conical washer for those who wish to experiment with higher preload values, commonly used in gravel events.

As a testament to our quality and reliability, we offer a 1-year motorsport warranty against material and manufacturing defects across our entire range of Plate-Type LSDs.
Important Reminder:
We recommend using gear oils with shockproof additives or friction modifiers, commonly labeled as "LS" (Limited Slip) gear oils, specifically for plate-type LSDs.
The most common SAE grade is 75W-140 LS, and it must include LS specifications if a plate-type LSD is installed. However, we recommend using the OEM-recommended SAE grade, as long as it includes LS specifications.
It is also advisable to add gear oil directly to the LSD during installation into the gearbox. Please note that although we apply anti-rust oil during assembly at our factory, it does not provide lubrication.
