Visual Guide to Peugeot/Citröen BE Gearbox Output Shafts
Visual Guide to PSA BE Gearbox Output Shafts
This image shows the different output shafts used in the most common Peugeot and Citroën BE-series gearboxes. While these shafts may appear very similar at first glance, each one has small but important differences depending on the specific version of the gearbox.
The gearbox models represented are:
- BE1 & BE3 (5-speed)
- BE4S
- BE4R
- BE3/6 (6-speed)
We created this visual guide to help you quickly and accurately identify the internal components of your gearbox. It’s important to note that some BE4 housings may contain internal components from a BE3 gearbox, which can lead to confusion when ordering parts or performing modifications.
With this side-by-side comparison, we aim to help you confidently determine which output shaft your gearbox uses and avoid mistakes in such a critical area as transmission.
The image also highlights available RSX short ratio options, such as 12x61 (5.08) and 12x68 (5.67)
