Plate Type LSD BMW 188K for BMW E46

Our plate type LSDs are manufactured from FORGED Nickel-Chromoly steel and undergo specialized heat treatments such as Super Sub-Zero or cryogenic processing.

Additionally, advanced processes such as shot peening and WPC are applied to increase core and surface strength, improve wear resistance, and extend overall service life.

The use of high-strength materials, combined with these treatments and processes, not only reduces friction and enhances fatigue resistance, but also allows for significant overall weight reduction and improved internal lubrication, thanks to a design featuring large windows and multiple holes.

As a result, we offer:

• Extended durability (on average, no servicing required during the first 2,000 km of special stages)

• Stable and consistent performance, even under extreme use

As with all our plate-type LSDs, we use dual ramp bodies.

Belleville Washers Included

Included free of charge:

• 2 thicker Belleville (conical) washers, each providing approximately +20 Nm of additional preload

These washers are intended for users who wish to experiment with higher preload settings, allowing the differential behavior to be tailored to specific needs.

Warranty

As proof of quality and reliability, they are backed by a 1-year Motorsport warranty, covering material or manufacturing defects across our full range of plate-type LSDs.

Important Notice

• We recommend using transmission oils with shockproof additives or friction modifiers, commonly labeled as “LS” (Limited Slip), specifically designed for plate-type LSDs.
• The most common SAE grade is 75W-140 LS, and only LS specification oil should be used when a plate-type LSD is installed.
• It is recommended to add transmission oil directly into the LSD during installation into the gearbox.
• Please note that although anti-rust oil is applied during factory assembly, it does not provide lubrication.
