VAG 02Q / MQ350 – 2WD 6-Speed Manual Gearbox Plate Type LSD | Plated Limited-Slip Differential

The 02Q and 02M differentials are identical, except for the bearing inner diameter on the side opposite the ring gear:
46 mm for the 02M and 48 mm for the 02Q.

On the ring gear side, both gearboxes use the same bearing with a 46 mm inner diameter.

Design & Manufacturing

Our plate-type limited-slip differentials are manufactured from FORGED Nickel-Chromoly steel and subjected to advanced heat treatments such as Super Sub-Zero / Cryogenic treatment.

In addition, all critical components undergo shot peening and WPC treatment, significantly improving:

• Core and surface strength
• Wear resistance
• Fatigue life

The combination of high-strength forged material and optimized internal design — featuring large windows and multiple oil holes — results in:

• Reduced internal friction
• Improved oil circulation and lubrication
• Lower overall weight
• Enhanced thermal stability

As a result, our LSDs deliver stable and predictable performance with exceptional durability, typically requiring no servicing during the first ~2,000 km of special stages under normal competition use.

Plate-type LSD with 16 friction plates
→ The only product on the market with this configuration

• Ultra-lightweight design: approx. 5.6 kg (lightest in its class)
• Stable preload values, even during long endurance races
• All our plated LSDs feature dual ramp bodies.
  Factory ramp configuration for this application: 35 / 67.5 & 35 / 90
• Other ramp angles are available upon request.

Extras included:

✔ A set of 12 pcs M11x1.0 high-grade 12.9 ring gear bolts is included with all our VAG 02Q LSDs. 

✔ The additional Belleville (conical) washer we supply is a thicker version, providing an increase of approximately 25 Nm over the standard assembly for customers who wish to experiment with higher preload values.

Installation Notes

• Ring gear bolts tightening torque: 85–90 Nm
• Recommended threadlocker: Loctite 271 (red)
• For maximum security: Loctite 270 / 2701 (green)

Warranty

As proof of our quality and reliability, we offer a 1-year motorsport warranty covering material or manufacturing defects across our full range of plate-type LSDs.

Important Reminder – Gear Oil

For correct operation and maximum service life, we strongly recommend the use of LS (Limited Slip) gear oils specifically formulated for plate-type LSDs.

Typical recommended viscosity: SAE 75W-140 LS

Only oils with LS specification must be used when a plate-type LSD is installed

It is also recommended to pre-lubricate the LSD with gear oil during gearbox assembly.

⚠️ Note: Although an anti-corrosion oil is applied during factory assembly, it does not provide lubrication.
